Our Story
Nta-Woven is an African inspired sustainable luxury brand founded in 2021 by Subaye Opoku-Acquah and Jasmine Terry Okafor. The idea for the brand began in the halls of Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia where the founders met as college roommates. Born and raised in Accra, Ghana, Subaye's love for the rich and vibrant prints of her native land resonated with Atlanta born Jasmine and became a focal point of their conversations.
Ntama + Woven
Our name is derived from the word "Ntama" which means "fabric" in the Akan language of Ghana. Just as fabric is woven, the lives of our founders and all the people who make our brand special are interconnected and woven together.
Fashion that's Sustainable
All of our fabrics and pieces are made and sewn by women artisans in Ghana who are paid a fair wage. Nta-Woven pieces are ethically crafted by real people with real lives in mind.
Signature is our Specialty
With each collection, we release a limited number of signature, versatile and timeless pieces. Our design process infuses the elegance and diversity of our clientele to produce timeless prints that are locally sourced and hand-dyed in Ghana exclusively for each Nta-Woven Collection.
Passion and Purpose
With each Nta-Woven piece you purchase, you invest in the economic vitality of women across the globe. At Nta-Woven, we believe that when you support a woman, you nurture a community.
